My feelings and thoughts about research and my research topic:
I have a passion for helping others and my Agency has given me the opportunity to make a difference. I work in residential treatment and my first promotion from working in direct-care was to the Outcomes Department. I tracked outcomes for 1 year in this position and sought follow up with clients post discharge. I learned a lot about services being setup, psychologists, therapy, and the positives/negatives of residential treatment. I think my topic fits my interest in outcomes based on (LOS) length of stay, due to my Agency having an average of almost 14 months. After attending a training at DCFS and learning that a study in New York showed that adolescents with a LOS in treatment >9 months actually could have more damage caused to them than help. This sparked my interest in the topic!
